Two weekends ago we went on our yearly visit to the English seaside. We normally stay in a little Air BNB in Margate, but as it was booked we stayed in the very pretty nearby town of Deal. Deal is more quiet, and its 1950’s pier isn’t as picturesque as other seaside towns, but the little high street and residential back streets were delightfully pretty, and it had a small handful of really lovely restaurants. I thought I would share a few photos of the very sweet cottage where we stayed. It had a tiny living room and kitchen on the ground floor, and a bedroom and shower room on the first floor. It provided us with a perfect weekend escape from our hectic London lives.
P.S. We still visited Margate to visit the exhibit at the Turner Contemporary Gallery, and eat ice cream and sorbets at our favourite ice cream shop – Melt Gelato. We walked 20km along the coast from Margate to Ramsgate before hopping back on the train to Deal to finish the day off with a healthy portion of fish and chips.
