We closed our garden door when the cold wet rainy months set in and haven’t really been out since. I always knew however that the time would come when we would have to venture outside again before the spring to prune our roses and learn about rose care. Apparently February is a good time to prune your roses in the London climate, so, after a bit of online research about how to do it properly I had a go this weekend.
There are numerous you-tube videos and online articles at ready to help, but I found this website here a good starting point and this website here has some helpful diagrams (one of which is above). I’m not sure if I’ve cut them down enough, but they certainly look a lot less unruly than they did when I started.. so we’ll see what happens in the summer!
